The Capital Region Human Resources Association (CRHRA) recently announced the newly elected officers and members of its Board of Directors, which consists of 17 human resource professionals from both public and private sectors. Officers include Michele Wilkes-Hawkins, President; Tracy Spargo, Vice President; Miriam Dushane, Secretary; Thomas McKenna, Treasurer. Newly elected Board of Directors include Sharon Butler, Kelly Conroy, Caryn LaFleche, Cathleen Smith, and Sara Delaney Vero. Continuing board members include Marjorie Adams, Cherri Alderdice, Debra Antonelli, Laurie DeLong, Harry Hayes, Martin Patrick, Alison Rosenblum, Dennis Ryan, and Chris Wessell.

CRHRA Presents: Performance Management as the Ultimate Talent Tool
Albany, NY - The Capital Region Human Resources Association (CRHRA) will hold the next Monthly Meeting and Program on Wednesday, September 9, 2009.
CRHRA will kick-off the 2009-2010 program year with an HRCI approved dinner program and presentation on performance management that is all about strategy, talent development and engagement. Diane Lustenader, SPHR, CCP, GPHR, President of Lake Associates will share latest thinking and successful approaches to performance management system design, implementation and evaluation that lead to a comprehensive approach to employee talent over his/her career.
This event begins with registration from 5:00pm – 6:00pm, dinner from 6:00pm – 7:00pm, and program from 7:00pm – 8:00pm at the Holiday Inn Turf on Wolf Road in Albany.

Diversity Achievement Award
Capital Region Human Resource Association (CRHRA) announces the call for nominations for the third annual Top Five Spectrum Award. The award will recognize the “Top Five” Capital District employers for their creative and innovative strategies that promote and advance the concept and spirit of diversity.
Nominations will be considered in the following categories: large employer (500 employees or more); mid-size employer (100 to 499 employees); small employer (fewer than 100 employees); non-profit employer; government / private (non-public) employer. Nominations will be based upon the completion of a nomination application that was developed for CRHRA by the College of St. Rose. To assure objectivity, the College of St. Rose will review all nominations and make the final selections.

CRHRA Business Meeting and Volunteer Recognition
Join us on Thursday night June 18th at the Holiday Inn Albany on Wolf Road for a celebration of our volunteers and their continuing commitment to helping our chapter “serve the profession and advance the professional”. Our wonderful volunteers provide hours support to the various CRHRA committees. Because of their dedication CRHRA is able to maintain and continuously improve the website, provide meaningful and insightful programming for meetings and conferences, provide chapter members with information through our newsletter, facebook, linkedin and other social networking sites and keep us in the public’s eye through public relation and marketing.
Our theme this year is to celebrate our “stars”. We are going to make everyone a star with a fun evening of KARAOKE! Who doesn’t love Karaoke? After the annual business meeting and installment of the new board we will cut loose with hors d’oeuvres, drinks and fun, fun, fun.
Our volunteers are our guests for this fun-filled and what surely will turn out to be an event-filled evening. Who knows maybe we have a star in the making in our midst. Cost for non-volunteers is $25 for members, $32 for guests and students are $10. A cash bar will be available for the length of the meeting.

CRHRA Presents: Two-Part Recruitment Program
Albany, NY - The Capital Region Human Resource Association (CRHRA) will hold a joint meeting with the Capital Region Recruiters Network for it’s next Monthly Meeting and Program on May 21, 2009.
This month’s program is a morning session offering two programs concentrating on the business of recruitment. The first program titled “Steal Willingly – Credit Openly: The Tool Kit of a Lone Recruiter” will provide you with a tool kit that guides you to essential value added items within the recruiting process, creates ease of use access to contacts and moves time to candidate facing tactics. The second program titled “Build or Buy: The Business Case for Internally Building or Outsourcing Recruitment” will escort you through the development of a business case for your situation; data gathering, analysis and stakeholder buy-in. Our speaker is Geoffrey M. Dubiski MS, CDR, CIR, Principal and Managing Director of Sumner Grace and Associates.
The event begins with registration and networking from 7:30 – 8:00am, breakfast buffet from 8:00 – 8:30am, 1st program from 8:30 – 9:30am, and 2nd program from 10:00 – 11:00am at the Holiday Inn Turf on Wolf Road in Albany.
