The Committees, along with other volunteers from CRHRA and CRRN provided free resume critiques to over 150 job seekers. Volunteers included Bev Knapp, Robert Braath, Martin Patrick, Jennifer Stonehouse, Erin Gordon, Tom McKenna, Alison Rosenblum, Max Rausch, Renee Mesh, Harry Hayes, Susan Lundberg, Jim Amanatides, Nicole Keck, Tracy Smith, Rebecca Rockwell, David Cheng, Jennifer LaPorte, Amy Sylvester, Allyson Cimino, Marj Adams, and Debra Antonelli.

CRHRA is committed to helping individuals who are entering or re-entering the workforce.  Local job fairs are an opportunity for CRHRA members to volunteer some of their time by helping those seeking to improve their visibility with employers.

We will be providing these services again on April 2, 2012 from 10am – 4pm at the Times Union Job Fair at the Albany Marriott.  If you are an active member of CRHRA and interested in volunteering for the next job fair please email pr@crhra.com or workforce@crhra.org

Hiring Trends in the Capital District

Join us on May 11th - Hiring Trends in the Capital District
Current Trends, Workforce Readiness, and Diversity in Hiring

Last month we learned about Challenges on the Road to Economic Recovery from our dynamic and informative Executive Panel.  This month’s breakfast seminar will take that topic one step further and will examine Hiring Trends specifically within the Capital District. You will have the opportunity to hear from a great panel of speakers with insight into current hiring trends, workforce readiness and diversity in hiring.

Please join us to learn about how to update your recruitment strategies, bring the best talent to your organization, and manage the employee life cycle in a changing economy.  CRHRA is pleased to welcome our three panelists: Miriam Dushane, Branch Manager of Linium Staffing, Shelley Florence, Vice President for Associate Relations at Price Chopper Supermarkets, and Natalie L. Williams, Employment, Training, and One Stop Director at the Washington County EOC. The panel will be moderated by Traci Koppenhafer, a Black Belt in Benefit Operations at General Electric and who also sits on CRHRA’s Diversity Committee.

2011 Executive Panel: Challenges on the Road to Economic Recovery

The Capital Region Human Resources Association (CRHRA) will hold its annual Executive Panel on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Turf on Wolf Road in Albany.  Most economists agree that the Great Recession has ended and the United States has entered a period of economic recovery.  Although this is welcome news to employers, the economic recovery creates a new set of challenges for Human Resource professionals.  Join us for one of our most popular programs of the year, as we hear from three local executives as to how they plan to strategize with HR to address these challenges.  CRHRA is pleased to welcome this year’s three panelists: Jerel Golub, President and COO of Price Chopper Supermarkets, Dr. Dorothy Cucinelli, Executive Director of ClearView Center, and David Klein, President of CG Power Solutions USA Inc.  Moderated by Michael Bishop, President of Bishop House Consulting, Inc., this year’s panel will afford Human Resources professionals in all industries with an excellent opportunity to compare and contrast the views of different leaders and help develop ideas and strategies to take back to their own organizations.

The Executive Panel event begins with registration and networking from 5:00pm-6:00pm, dinner from 6:00pm – 7:00pm, and program from 7:00pm – 8:00pm. Reservations may be made at www.CRHRA.org or by contacting CRHRA at (518) 463-8687.  The events are open to the public.  Cost: CRHRA Members $35, Non-Members $43, Students $15.
