CRHRA Linked-In Group Terms of Use

Please read the Terms of Use below. By accessing, viewing, joining or otherwise utilizing the tools available via the Linked-In CRHRA Group (“Group”), you accept the Terms of Use as indicated below. Violation of these terms will result in removal from the Group. If you do not agree to be legally bound by any of these Terms DO NOT access or use this Group. If now or in the future you object to or seek to change any of these Terms or any subsequent modifications of these Terms or you otherwise become dissatisfied with this Group in any way, your only recourse is to immediately discontinue use of this Group.

DESCRIPTION OF GROUP
CRHRA’s Linked-In Group is a forum for members to share HR-related information and experience with other CRHRA members in a professional manner. This is not an area for marketing products, business promotion, posting of non-HR related job openings or internships, solicitation of non-HR related resumes, solicitation of non-HR related jobs or internships, non-HR related volunteer work or not-for-profit mentions. There are no extra fees or charges from CRHRA associated with using this service.

This Group is designed to provide a forum for member-to-member exchanges and dialogue. CRHRA welcomes your feedback, questions or concerns about CRHRA. Should you have a question or comment, please contact CRHRA directly at crhra@caphill.com.

SITE USAGE
Your access to and use of this Group is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. To the extent your access and use of this Group complies with all such applicable laws and these Terms, CRHRA grants you the revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to access and use the Group’s features, and all information, materials, functions and content available on the Group, and to participate in the Group as available in accordance with these Terms and any instructions on the Group itself.

Please remember: this Group is a PUBLIC FORUM. Your postings may be seen by Internet users around the world, and you are solely responsible for your postings.

RULES OF CONDUCT
When posting on the Group’s bulletin board, please keep in mind that YOU CAN BE HELD LEGALLY LIABLE FOR WHAT YOU WRITE. For example, if you post defamatory comments about someone, you may be held legally accountable for them.

Collecting e-mail addresses from CRHRA’s Linked-In Group for the purpose of solicitation or "spamming" will not be tolerated. Persons found in violation of this policy may have their Group access blocked.

By utilizing the tools available via CRHRA’s Linked-In Group, you accept these conditions and agree not to post material that:
  • Defames any person, business, governmental or other entity, product or service.

  • Contains unsolicited or inappropriate advertising, promotional materials, or other forms of solicitation.

  • Could reasonably be construed as a violation of Federal, state or international law prohibiting anti-competitive activities or unfair trade practices. For example, participants should not discuss detailed salary, wage, or benefit pay by a company or industry, since such a discussion might fall outside of the FTC/Dept. of Justice safe harbor provisions for sharing of salary, wage, and benefits information.

  • Contains false or fraudulent information.

  • Infringes any other person or entity's copyright, trademark, service mark or trade dress.

  • Discloses or could lead to disclosure of any trade secret.

  • Violates any privacy-related right belonging to any person, business or other entity.

  • Harasses, threatens, abuses, embarrasses or causes distress, unwanted attention or discomfort to any other person or entity.

  • Is patently inappropriate, e.g., information or topics not related to human resource practitioners or the HR profession.

  • Contains obscene or sexually explicit images or other information.

  • Interferes with the contract of another through the web site.

  • Is unprofessional or is otherwise inappropriate for this forum.

In addition, you agree not to use the web site to impersonate any person, or communicate under a false name or one that you are not authorized to use. By utilizing the tools available via this Group you agree to release the Capital Region Human Resource Association and its advertisers from any liability arising from messages posted by anyone on this Group, and you agree to release, hold harmless, indemnify and defend the Capital Region Human Resource Association and its advertisers from any and all legal or civil actions and penalties and costs, including without limitation attorneys’ fees, arising from messages you have posted on this Group.

MONITORING
CRHRA strives to provide an enjoyable online experience for its Group members, so it may from time to time monitor, or have monitored by a third party, postings on, to or through this Group to foster compliance with these Terms and its operating procedures or to satisfy any law, regulation or government request, but CRHRA is not obligated to do so and will not be liable for any user generated content on the Group or your exposure to same.

All users, including you, hereby specifically agree to all such monitoring. CRHRA does not make any warranties or guarantees (i) the Group will be monitored for accuracy or unacceptable use (ii) apparent statements of fact will be authenticated, or (iii) CRHRA will take any specific action (or any action at all) in the event of a dispute regarding compliance or non-compliance with these Terms. CRHRA has the right, in its sole discretion, to edit, refuse to post or remove any material submitted to or posted on this Group. Without limiting the foregoing, CRHRA has the right, in its sole discretion, at any time and for any reason to remove any material posted anywhere on this Group.

REPORTING ABUSE & INVESTIGATION
If you see a posting that violates these Terms please report it to CRHRA at crhra@caphill.com. If you choose to reply to an offensive/abusive post on this Group, however, please do so respectfully. Your posting is also subject to these Terms. CRHRA reserves the right to investigate suspected violations of these Terms, including, without limitation, any violation arising from any postings made to or communications made through the Group. CRHRA may seek to gather information from you if you are suspected of violating these Terms, and from any other user.
BY ACCEPTING THESE TERMS YOU WAIVE AND AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS CRHRA FROM ANY CLAIMS RESULTING FROM ANY ACTION TAKEN BY CRHRA DURING OR AS A RESULT OF ITS INVESTIGATIONS AND/OR FROM ANY ACTIONS TAKEN AS A CONSEQUENCE OF INVESTIGATIONS BY EITHER CRHRA OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES.

MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
With or without notice to you, CRHRA reserves the right to and may in our sole discretion change or supplement these Terms. Your continued use of the Group constitutes an affirmative acknowledgment and irrevocable acceptance to abide and be bound by these Terms as currently posted and/or modified. Please bookmark and/or visit this page regularly to keep up to date with the current Terms governing your use and access of this Group. You are responsible for regularly reviewing these Terms. The last date these Terms were updated will be posted at the beginning and/or the end of these Terms.

CRHRA may add at anytime in its sole discretion additional features to this Group of which are subject to additional terms and conditions. You should read any such additional terms carefully before using such features. Any such additional terms will not vary or replace these Terms unless otherwise expressly stated.

CRHRA Announces Winners of Diversity Award

The Capital Region Human Resource Association (CRHRA) Board of Directors and the Diversity Committee announce the Third Annual 2009 winners of the Top Five Spectrum Award: A Celebration of Workplace Diversity. The award recognizes the top five Capital District employers for their creative and innovative strategies that promote and advance the concept and spirit of diversity. The 2009 winners are Capital District Transportation Authority, In Our Own Voices, Parsons Child and Family Center, Time Warner Cable – Albany, and Pitney Bowes Business Insight.

The winners will be honored at The “Top Five” Spectrum Award: A Celebration of Workplace Diversity dinner gala on Thursday, October 15, 2009 beginning at 6pm at The Desmond Hotel and Conference Center, Albany, NY. CRHRA ANNOUNCES NEW OFFICERS AND MEMBERS OF ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Capital Region Human Resources Association (CRHRA) recently announced the newly elected officers and members of its Board of Directors, which consists of 17 human resource professionals from both public and private sectors. Officers include Michele Wilkes-Hawkins, President; Tracy Spargo, Vice President; Miriam Dushane, Secretary; Thomas McKenna, Treasurer. Newly elected Board of Directors include Sharon Butler, Kelly Conroy, Caryn LaFleche, Cathleen Smith, and Sara Delaney Vero. Continuing board members include Marjorie Adams, Cherri Alderdice, Debra Antonelli, Laurie DeLong, Harry Hayes, Martin Patrick, Alison Rosenblum, Dennis Ryan, and Chris Wessell.

CRHRA comprised of over 850 professionals, employed in various human resource functions in over 450 companies.

CRHRA Presents: Performance Management as the Ultimate Talent Tool

Albany, NY - The Capital Region Human Resources Association (CRHRA) will hold the next Monthly Meeting and Program on Wednesday, September 9, 2009.

CRHRA will kick-off the 2009-2010 program year with an HRCI approved dinner program and presentation on performance management that is all about strategy, talent development and engagement. Diane Lustenader, SPHR, CCP, GPHR, President of Lake Associates will share latest thinking and successful approaches to performance management system design, implementation and evaluation that lead to a comprehensive approach to employee talent over his/her career.

This event begins with registration from 5:00pm – 6:00pm, dinner from 6:00pm – 7:00pm, and program from 7:00pm – 8:00pm at the Holiday Inn Turf on Wolf Road in Albany.
